How does the event work?

Teams of cyclists will be asked to register for the event. Once they have they will then need to select as many individual 20-minute static cycling slots they want to cycle and raise as much money as they can for Future Dreams, our 2024 charity partner. Teams can be of any size.

What level of fitness do I need to have for this challenge?
This is suitable for everyone and of every level of fitness. This is not a race and anyone can take part. We will have refreshments on hand and a medical team if you need any support.

What training do I need to do?
As you will be cycling for at least 20 minutes, you need to be comfortable riding a static bike. If you haven’t ridden a static bike, maybe pop along to a local gym and try one there. The type of static bikes that will be used in the challenge are Watt Bikes. These bikes are very comfortable, have a display to show how fat you have ridden, and have pedals comparable with some cycling cleats.

I have a medical condition, what should I do?
We strongly recommend anyone who has a medical condition should seek approval from their GP / Consultant before signing up for the challenge. When registering for the event, you are agreeing to be fit and healthy enough to take part. The Health and safety of all participants and members of staff are paramount to us. Depending on the type and severity of your condition, we may require a letter from a medical professional stating that you are fit enough to undergo the activity. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions (below) for further details.

How will each slot of cycling work?
Each cycling slot is 20 minutes long. You should cycle the slot in a way that you feel comfortable throughout. At the end of each session, the distance on your static bike’s screen will be noted and added to your total. There will be a leaderboard on this website which will show each team’s distances.

Will refreshments be provided?
Water will be available but food and hot and cold drinks will be available at a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and supermarkets in the area.

What type of static bike will I be riding?
You will be riding a Watt Bike. You should wear comfortable trainers and clothes that you are comfortable cycling in. The Watt bikes are compatible with cycling cleats (Look Keo).

What happens if I experience problems with my bike?
Don’t worry we have a bike mechanic with us on the support team, who will be able to provide any quick repairs to get you going again. If you do not have time to finish your slot we will credit you the distance (for the 20-minute slot) you would have a cycle based on when you stopped.

What happens if I get injured?

We have carefully planned out this challenge to try and make sure that no one gets injured. Unfortunately due to the nature of cycling, there may be injuries. To support you we have a qualified medic on hand. It is though, your responsibility to make sure you have advised us of any pre-existing medical condition and reported to our medic in advance.
